The Family Garden - Starter Kit - Grow a Garden and Create a Memory         Registration

“Why try to explain miracles to your kids when you can just have them plant a garden.”  Robert Brault

Each year we offer 100 garden starter kits, free with a $30 donation.  They are great for new and experienced gardeners.  This year, the kit includes the same seeds that our students are growing in their gardens.  This gives you a wider variety of vegetables than you may have tried before.

Garden planting plan and more details.

In 2013, the kits will contain:
  • A collection of 25 varieties of vegetables and five varieties of flower seeds in each kit.
  • A coupon for three  (3-4") potted vegetable, herb or flowering plants from Natorp's Nursery Outlet.
  • A free basil plant, and choice of an heirloom tomato from over 20 selections available the month of May.  Kids that receive a plant will have the option to serve as a judge at our August tomato tasting contest.  Greenfield Plant Farm.
  • A coupon for one (3 - 4") herb plants and a coupon for two "pick your own" lavender bouquets from Jaybird Farms
  • 10 five-gallon buckets worth of Granny's Garden School's leaf compost.
  • Your kit also includes, seed potatoes and onion sets.
You will receive more than enough seeds to plant two 3' x 10' vegetable gardens.  However, if you plan to have enough of a vegetable i.e. green beans for canning, you will need more seeds and more space.  Our goal is to provide you with a variety of seeds.  We are not selling the seeds, plants, compost.  They are provided free with your donation.
