How Much Alcohol Can You Drink Per Week and Still Be Healthy?

Determining how much alcohol you can consume per week while maintaining good health depends on various factors, including age, gender, weight, health conditions, and personal tolerance.

For most adults, moderate drinking is defined as up to one drink per day for women and up to two drinks per day for men. One standard drink typically contains:

According to the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, the recommended weekly limit for healthy adults is up to 14 standard drinks for men and up to 7 standard drinks for women.
